What if we gave ourselves permission to create like we did as kids—with curiosity, imagination, and fearlessness?

Join Erica Lynn + Taylor Sengstack at James’ Tea Room for two hours of expressive writing, cyanotype prints from childhood photographs, and creative play. We’ll revisit the joy of making, honor our younger selves, and reconnect with a little childlike wonder.

What to Expect:

This two-hour workshop will move between cyanotype, writing, and creative play.

Cyanotype
Taylor will guide participants through the cyanotype process, creating  a cyanotype print from a negative made with your childhood photograph. You’ll expose it in the sun, then develop it in water and watch the image appear.

Expressive Writing
Erica will guide you through prompts inspired by your photograph, memories, and younger self, with opportunities to share and reflect.

Creative Play
We’ll finish by decorating a popsicle-stick frame for your cyanotype using colorful, playful art materials inspired by childlike creativity.

No writing or art experience is needed.

Before the Workshop:

Please send Taylor a scan or clear photo of your childhood photograph by Nov. 10 to hello@taylormadesunprints.com with your first and last name.

For the best result, choose a clear image where your younger self is easy to see. If photographing a physical photo, use natural light and avoid glare, shadows, and filters.

No scanner? Scanner Pro is a simple option for scanning photos with your phone.

What to Bring:

  • A notebook that inspires you. Maybe it’s the color, the texture, or one you’e been saving for something meaningful.

  • A pen or pencil

  • Yoga mat (mats will be provided if you don’t have your own!)
